Who We Are

Renton United Methodist Church is a nurturing family of Christians working together to find God’s way in an often-confusing world.

We are theologically diverse people using scripture, reason, life experience, and the Christian tradition to follow the spirit of God’s great commission to make disciples and to love God, our neighbors, and our selves.

We share our beliefs and time through worship, education and service.

What we believe

We believe that God is love.

We believe that God created the universe and all that is as an expression of unwavering love.

We understand the life and death and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth to be a particular example of God’s love.

We believe Jesus reveals God’s nature through his teaching and healing ministry and through his non-violent response to persecution.

We believe the resurrection reveals God’s exquisite forgiveness.

We believe that mercy is new every morning and that every person is a beloved child of God.
